WATERFORD, Conn. – It was a solid day of action for the UMass Dartmouth women's cross country team, competing in the 6k white race at the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Park. The Corsairs finished 16th of 33 teams in the event, paced by a number of solid efforts in a field of tough competition.
UMass Dartmouth was paced by junior captain
Sarah Lynch, who ran to 67th overall with a time of 23:51.0. Next across was classmate and fellow captain
Sophie Owen, who was 68th overall with a mark of 23:51.1.
Rookie
Alexah Pedder finished 112th overall, recording a time of 24:33.8, while sophomore
Ashlyn Byrnes was next to cross the line, posting a time of 25:18.2 – good for 175th overall. Senior captain
Tori Schweitzer finished the day in 180th, notching a time of 25:21.2, while sophomore
Natalya LaVita had a time of 25:48.0 for 205th.
Rounding out the top seven finishers for the Corsairs was rookie
Elena Aponte, who had a time of 25:51.5 to earn 207th overall.
