Six Tabbed to All-MASCAC Teams in Football

Corsairs see four named First Team; Five garner Second Team honors

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) has announced its all-conference honors for the 2025 season and UMass Dartmouth saw nine student-athletes recognized for their outstanding efforts this year. Four players were named to the First Team Offense and Defense, while five were tabbed to the Second Team Offense & Defense squads.
 
MASCAC FIRST TEAM OFFENSE
RB – Mekhi Wilson, Jr. (Narragansett, R.I.)
OL – Kevin Moura, Jr. (Fairhaven, Mass.)
OL – Matt Goodison, Sr. (Bloomfield, Conn.)

 
Wilson captures his first year-end honor following a season to remember in 2025. The junior running back posted 214 attempts for 1,294 yards with a program single-season record 18 rushing touchdowns and no fumbles over 10 games played. Wilson also caught the ball 15 times for 117 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 129.40 yards per game and led the MASCAC in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, rushing yards per game, scoring (11.4), total points scored (114), total touchdowns (19) and all-purpose yards (141.10).
 
In addition to his First Team honor, Wilson was named the MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week on November 17 and was also the New England Football Writers Association DII/DIII Weekly Gold Helmet Award winner.
 
Moura and Goodison were a part of a Corsairs offensive line that produced a conference-best 2,243 rushing yards, averaging another MASCAC-best 224.3 rushing yards per game. The Corsairs offensive line finished second overall in the conference with 27 rushing touchdowns on the season. Additionally, the Corsairs rank 21st in Division III in rushing offense.
 
MASCAC FIRST TEAM DEFENSE
DB – Xavier Lopes, Jr. (Lorain, Ohio)

Junior defensive back Xavier Lopes garners his second straight year-end honor (2nd Team in 2024) after recording eight pass breakups on the season with eight – which ranked second on the team. He also recorded three interceptions, adding 30.0 tackles, including 18 solo of 10 games played. Lopes also had 1.5 tackles for a loss of three yards.
 
MASCAC SECOND TEAM OFFENSE
OL – Ezrah Hatcher, Jr. (Waterbury, Conn.)
K – Connor McManus, So. (New Bedford, Mass.)


Hatcher was another anchor on the offensive line that paced the MASCAC in nearly every rushing category this season. He also helped the Corsairs post the highest total offense numbers with 392.4 yards per game, while ranking fourth in red zone offense (.844). It marks his first career year-end honor.
 
McManus collected his first year-end honor after a solid season as the Corsairs primary kicker. In 10 games played, he recorded 54 kickoffs for 1,974 yards, averaging 36.6 yards per kick. The MASCAC Special Teams Player of the Week on September 8, he added 31 punts for 1,111 yards, including three touchbacks and eight inside the 20. McManus also went 7-of-8 in field goals on the season, going 3-for-3 from 20 yards, 3-for-4 from 30 yards and was 1-for-1 between 40-49 yards.
 
MASCAC SECOND TEAM DEFENSE
DL – Kairis Codio, Sr. (Randolph, Mass.)
DB – Eric Perkins, So. (Boston, Mass.)
LB – Owen Dunker, Jr. (Boston, Mass.)

 
Codio, the Corsairs team captain in 2025, finished fourth on the team with 55.0 total tackles. He had 24 solo and 31 assisted with 7.0 tackles for a loss of 22 yards. Codio also posted 2.0 sacks for nine yards with a pass breakup, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble this season. It marks the first career end honor for the senior.
 
Perkins picks up his first career honor after starting all 10 games for the Corsairs at defensive back. He recorded 20.0 total tackles in that time, including nine solo and 11 assisted. Perkins also led the team with nine pass breakups, adding two interceptions and a quarterback hurry. Amongst the MASCAC leaders, Perkins is tied for second overall in pass breakups on the year.
 
Dunker led the Corsairs defense with 65.0 total tackles over 10 games. He amassed team-high's in both solo (30) and assisted (35) with eight tackles coming at a loss of 38 yards. Dunker also posted a team-best 3.0 sacks for a loss of 20 yards with four pass breakups, five quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. He is eighth in the conference in total tackles.
 
The Corsairs finished the 2025 campaign with a 6-4 overall record, going 6-3 in the MASCAC with wins over Fitchburg State, Mass. Maritime, Worcester State, Dean, Westfield State and Plymouth State.
