MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – D3football.com has announced its 2025 All-Region 1 honors and two UMass Dartmouth student-athletes have been recognized. Junior
Mekhi Wilson and senior
Matt Goodison were both tabbed for their outstanding seasons.
It marks the first All-Region honor for both as Wilson was named to Second Team Offense, while Goodison was a Third Team Offense honoree. The duo were among eight selections from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to be named to either the First, Second or Third Teams.
Wilson, a running back out of Narragansett, R.I., led the MASCAC in rushing yards with 1,294 – which was 452 yards ahead of second place in the conference. With 214 carries, he averaged 129.4 yards per contest – which also ranked first among the conference's best. His 18 rushing touchdowns on the season were also a MASCAC-high – finishing with seven more than second place – while not fumbling the ball at all during the 2025 season.
Among the best in Division III, Wilson – an NEFW All-New England and All-MASCAC First Team Offense selection – currently ranks eighth in rushing yards per game, ninth in rushing touchdowns, 10th in rushing yards, 11th in scoring (11.4), 13th in total touchdowns (19), 14th in total points scored (114), 24th in all-purpose yards (141.1) and 31st in rushing yards per carry (6.05).
In 10 games this season, Wilson recorded eight contests with at least 100+ yards rushing, including a career-high 218 yards with five touchdowns and a receiving touchdown – accounting for all Corsairs' touchdowns - in a 42-21 win over Plymouth State on November 15. That performance earned him the Weekly Gold Helmet Award for DII/DIII from the New England Football Writers', along with MASCAC Offensive Performer of the Week recognition.
Wilson eclipsed the single season record for rushing touchdowns in a season with 18 during the win over the Panthers, surpassing the previous mark of 16 set by J.T. Harold in both the 2007 and 2008 seasons, as well as Mike Masse in 1997. Additionally, Wilson finished with the third-most rushing yards in a single season behind Harold (1567) in 2008 and Shawn Theriault (1535) in 2003.
Goodison, an offensive lineman who hails from Bloomfield, Conn., was part of a Corsairs offensive line that produced a conference-best 2,243 rushing yards, averaging another MASCAC-best 224.3 rushing yards per game. The Corsairs offensive line finished second overall in the conference with 27 rushing touchdowns on the season in 2025. Additionally, the Corsairs rank 16th in Division III in rushing offense.
An All-MASCAC First Team Offense selection, has helped the Corsairs offensive line produce outstanding numbers throughout his career. During his junior season, he played in seven games on a line that allowed only six sacks the entire season and was fifth in Division III in fewest sacks allowed. The Corsairs offensive unit that season ranked ninth in the nation with a rushing attack that ran for 2,579 yards and 32 touchdowns and was third in DIII scoring offense (51.7) and fourth in total offense (507.7).
Goodison played in four games as a sophomore on a line that ranked 31st in the nation with a rushing attack that ran for 2212 yards and 29 touchdowns. He was also part of a 2022 offense that produced the best rushing attack and scoring offense in the MASCAC with 2,564 total yards, 233.1 yards per game, 5.4 yards per carry and the offense scored 40.1 points per game.
The Corsairs finished the 2025 campaign with a 6-4 overall record, going 6-3 in the MASCAC with wins over Fitchburg State, Mass. Maritime, Worcester State, Dean, Westfield State and Plymouth State.
