Women's Track & Field Opens Action at DIII NE's

Corsairs have solid opening start to championships

BOSTON, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's track & field team saw several members in action on Friday at the 2025 Division III New England Championships – hosted at The TRACK at New Balance. Two individuals got things underway, while the Corsairs also saw a relay close out the day.
 
In the shot put, graduate student Kate Hockenbury finished 16th overall with a throw of 11.44 meters (37' 6.5"), while senior Neisha Boiteux was 21st with a distance of 11.06 meters (36' 3.5").
 
The track events saw the Distance Medley Relay in action. The group, comprised of senior Julia Latura, rookie Sara Lopez and seniors Anya Aadland and Bee Greenberg, finished 18th overall with a mark of 13:13.76. That time marked the third-best all-time performance in program history.
 
UMass Dartmouth will see a number of competitors open action on Saturday, beginning with the weight throw at 11am as sophomore Emily Hesketh fights for a DIII New England title. Graduate student Emma Steedman opens the track events at 2:15pm in the 1 Mile run.
