Women's Track & Field Posts Strong Opening at F.I.R.E. Meet

Corsairs see strong efforts in the 5,000-meters on day one at Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's outdoor track & field team saw two student-athletes in action on Friday at the F.I.R.E. Meet at Williams College. Both Corsairs competed in the 5,000-meter event.
 
Pacing the way was junior Sarah Lynch, who finished 43rd overall in a competitive field with an outdoor personal best time of 18:52.34. Classmate Sophie Owen was close behind, crossing the finish line in 46th with a mark of 19:36.81.
 
The Corsairs will see several competitors in action on day two of the F.I.R.E. meet, beginning at 10am with the shot put.
