Under the direction of second-year head coach Ryan O'Connell, the Corsairs posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.18 to earn this year's recognition. Led by graduate student Emily Philbrook – an All-LEC First Team honoree – the Corsairs posted four finishes in the top-10 throughout the season, including the first runner-up finish at the Little East Championships since the 2000 season.

The Corsairs opened the 2024 campaign taking sixth overall at the Wheaton/Babson Season Opener, before posting eighth overall at the Trinity Bantam Invitational. The squad placed 21st amongst a 45-team field at their own UMD Invitational. Following solid efforts at the Keene State Invite and the Conn College Invite, the Corsairs powered their way to second overall at the conference championships.

UMass Dartmouth was paced by Philbrook, who finished in a career-best time of 18:57.9, while senior Bee Greenberg and Steedman were 10th and 13th, respectively, to take home All-LEC Second Team honors. The team concluded the season at the NCAA Regionals, finishing 15th in the 30-team field behind Steedman, who was 52nd in a field of 224 runners.

Academically, the Corsairs saw five student-athletes named to the Little East Fall All-Academic Team, while 11 were LEC Academic Honor Roll selections.

Steedman, who hails from Eastbourne, United Kingdom, competed in six meets for the Corsairs in 2024. She finished 39th overall in the 2M event at the Wheaton/Babson Season Opener with a collegiate-best time of 12:39.6, then posted 38th overall in 21:40.5 in the 5k of the Trinity Bantam Invitational. Steedman then posted her finish at LEC's in a collegiate-best time of 19:30.4 before recording another collegiate-best time of 23:49.7 in the 6k at the NCAA East Regional.
