HARTFORD, Conn. – It was a solid morning of action for the UMass Dartmouth women's cross country team, which placed sixth overall at the George Suitor Invitational – hosted by Trinity College at Wickham Park. The Corsairs finished with 169 points as Tufts University claimed this year's 5k event.
Pacing the way for the Corsairs was junior captain
Sarah Lynch, who notched a time of 22:01.8 – good for 30th overall. Classmate and fellow captain
Sophie Owen was next across, posting 39th overall with a time of 22:23.3.
Next across the finish line was senior captain
Tori Schweitzer, who had a mark of 22:35.7 for 42nd overall, while rookie
Alexah Pedder crossed in 47th with a time of 22:52.3. Sophomore
Alexia Gonsalves finished 55th overall in 23:14.4 as classmate
Natalya LaVita was 57th in 23:21.0
Rounding out the top seven for the Corsairs was junior captain
Serena Carnes, who posted a time of 23:29.6 to finish 59th overall.

The Corsairs are now idle until September 20 when they host the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at the Coach Robert Dowd Cross Country Course. The women's varsity race begins at 12pm, while the sub-varsity race begins at 12:40pm.
