BOSTON, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's track & field team was back in action on Saturday, competing in the final day of the Division III New England Championship. The Corsairs saw a number of solid finishes on the afternoon, including a strong effort by the 4x800 meter relay.
Sophomore
Emily Hesketh opened the day's action in the weight throw, finishing 22nd overall in the tough field with a distance of 12.78 meters (41' 11.75") .
On the track, the Corsairs saw graduate student
Emma Steedman compete in the 1 Mile event, crossing the finish line in 5:24.51 – which ranked 24th overall.
UMass Dartmouth concluded the day in the 4x800 meter relay as the Corsairs finished 16th overall with a time of 10:14.13. That mark was also the fourth-best performance indoor all-time in program history. The group was comprised of Steedman, senior

The Corsairs return to action next week with qualified individuals competing at the Open New England Championships on Friday and Saturday, while other will head to the Tufts National Qualifier Meet on Saturday in Medford.
