DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Three Corsairs from the UMass Dartmouth women's basketball team were named to the 2024-25 D3hoops.com All-Region 2 Team for their performances this season. Graduate student forward

Teja Andrews and fifth year captain
Kaylin Zalewski were each selected to the All-Region Third Team.
Whiteside, who was recently garnered WBCA Coaches' All-America Honorable Mention honors, capped off an incredible career with UMass Dartmouth for the 2024-25 season after leading the team in multiple statistical categories. She finished the season with 406 points, marking a new-career-high, and averaged 15.0 points per game for the Corsairs. Whiteside also led the squad in field goals made (143), field goal percentage (54.0), free throws made (102), free throw attempts (128), total rebounds (216), offensive boards (67), defensive boards (149), average rebounds per game (8.0), and total blocked shots (35).
A four-time Little East Conference (LEC) Player of the Week selection, Whiteside recorded six double-doubles this season along with eight games with 20-plus points. Through 27 games played, featuring 26 starts, the veteran forward has averaged a career-high 27 minutes played per game for the Corsairs. She dropped a season-high 30 points against Western Connecticut State University on Feb. 22. Whiteside powered UMass Dartmouth over Bates College on Jan. 25 with her 20 points and season-high 14 rebounds against the Bobcats in an 88-82 overtime thriller.
Andrews, a two-time Little East All-Conference selection, has been a reliable leader for UMass Dartmouth throughout her five years wearing the Corsair uniform. She is the only player this season to play and start in all 28 games with 817 total minutes, averaging 29.2 minutes per game. She also leads the team with 76 total steals while also ranking second overall on the team in total points (349), field goals made (139), field goal attempts (276), field goal percentage (50.4), free throws made (69), total rebounds (156), total offensive boards (42), average rebounds per game (5.6), and total blocked shots (15).
Additionally, the veteran captain ranks 39
th in all Division III with 76 steals which also ranks first overall in the Little East. The Plymouth native also leads the conference in steals per game (2.7) and total games played (28). Earlier this season, Andrews surpassed the 1,000-career point mark after dropping 20 points against Maine Maritime Academy in the 2024 LaFrance Hospitality Tournament finals.
Zalewski also finished an outstanding career at UMass Dartmouth collecting her first D3hoops.com All-Region honors. An All-LEC Second Team and All-Defensive Team recipient, Zalewski ranked third on the squad this season with 334 points, averaging 13.4 points per game to own the second-best scoring average on the team. In 25 games played for the Corsairs, Zalewski has recorded 47 steals, good for second on the team, while also posting the third-most three-point field goals with 48 on the year.
A three-time LEC Player of the Week honoree, Zalewski has scored 20-plus points in eight games this season highlighted by a season-high 24 points on Feb. 12 versus UMass Boston. On Feb. 8 against Vermont State University Castleton, the veteran guard became just the 16
th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points thanks to her 22-point effort against the Spartans.
