NEW LONDON, Conn. – Seven personal records were achieved on Friday night as members of the UMass Dartmouth women's track & field team competed at the 2025 Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College.
Graduate student
Emma Steedman kicked things off in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing sixth overall with a personal record time of 11:35.10. Next up was the 800-meter run, led by rookie
Sara Lopez as she took 33rd overall with a personal record time of 2:31.37.
Senior
Julia Latura also competed in the 800-meter, crossing the finish line with a time of 2:36.42 – good for 39th overall. Junior
Tori Schweitzer posted a time of 2:38.01 to take 42nd overall.
Action concluded with the 10,000-meter run as six Corsairs were in action. Leading the way was graduate student
Emily Philbrook, who took eighth overall with a personal record mark of 39:12.43. Next to cross was sophomore
Sarah Lynch, who notched a personal record time of 40: 30.68 to earn 11th overall.
Senior
Bee Greenberg was next across, posting a time of 41:07.84 to finish 18th overall. Close behind was classmate
Anya Aadland, who was 20th with a personal record time of 41:11.70. Sophomore
Serena Carnes – racing in her first 10,000m – posted a personal record time of 43:31.70 for 23rd overall, while classmate
Sophie Owen achieved a personal record time of 43:32.98 to finish 24th.
UMass Dartmouth will see the rest of the squad head to Westfield State on Sunday as this year's Jerry Gravel Invitational was moved due to inclement weather expected on Saturday. Action gets underway at 10am with the field events as track events get underway at 12pm.
