PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference has announced its year-end honors in baseball and UMass Dartmouth student-athlete Geordan Jackson Murphy has been recognized. The junior was named to the All-Little East Third Team for his efforts during the 2025 season.

A relief pitcher from Nadi, Fiji, Jackson Murphy appeared in 14 games for the Corsairs this season. Pitching in 20.2 innings, he allowed 13 runs (11 earned) on 14 hits, while ranking second on the team in total strikeouts with 30. Owning a 1-3 record, Jackson Murphy posted a 4.79 earned run average with a 1.69 WHIP, while boasting a team-best two saves.

In his 14 appearances, opposing teams batted just .184 against him – one of the lowest averages among Corsair pitchers who posted at least 10.0+ innings pitched. Highlighting the season was his victory – a 1.0 inning effort in a 7-6 bottom-of-the-ninth win over Wheaton on March 18.

Jackson Murphy went on to pick up his first save of 2025, striking out a batter in 1.0 innings of a 9-7 win against Southern Maine on March 28. He posted his second save on April 29, striking out four batters over 2.0 innings in a 6-4 win against Rhode Island College.

Last season, Jackson Murphy made 12 appearances for the Corsairs, including one as a starter. He sported a 2-0 record with a 1.62 WHIP. In addition to one save recorded, he owned a 2.08 earned run average. Jackson Murphy allowed eight runs (four earned) on 15 hits over 17.1 innings pitched while striking out 21 batters as opponents batted .224 against.

As a freshman, Jackson Murphy appeared in 16 games, including nine as a starter (five as a pitcher). On the mound, he pitched 23.0 innings, allowing 13 runs on 24 hits with 24 strikeouts. Jackson Murphy – who also recorded 17 at-bats with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored – had a 3-2 overall record.

UMass Dartmouth concluded the 2025 season with a 16-21 overall record. The Corsairs went 8-8 in the Little East standings, earning the sixth-seed for the conference tournament. UMD shouldered tough losses to eventual-champion, Keene State and UMass Boston to conclude the year.
