Men's Track & Field Opens Action at DIII New Englands

Solid efforts pace day one for the Corsairs

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The UMass Dartmouth men's track & field team saw a number of competitors in action on Friday for day one of the 2025 Division III New England Championships – hosted by the Coast Guard Academy.

The Corsairs saw rookie Bryce Tessier compete in the 110-meter hurdles trials. Though he didn't qualify for the finals on Saturday, he posted a personal best time of 15.07 to finish 10th overall. Next up was the 100-meter dash prelims as senior Xavier Manuel was in action. Despite posting a time of 10.87, he was unable to qualify for Saturday's finals, finishing 11th overall.
 
Rounding out the day's action for the Corsairs on Friday was the grueling 10,000-meter run. Pacing the effort was fifth-year Jake Paris, who finished 13th overall with a personal record time of 33:12.05. Junior Ethan Sylvia also finished strong, posting 18th overall with a time of 33:40.84.
 
The Corsairs will see a number of student-athletes compete in 11 different events on day two of the DIII New England Championships. Action begins at 11am with the men's 4x100-meter relay and the men's high jump – which will see three Corsairs compete for this year's title.
