GENEVA, Ohio – UMass Dartmouth senior
Connor Richard concluded his outstanding career on Thursday, competing in the javelin throw at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships – hosted at the SPIRE Institute.
Richard, a senior from Plymouth, Mass., made his third straight appearance at Nationals as he finished 17th overall with a throw of 56.20 meters (184' 4"). He concludes a fantastic career that saw him finish third or better in six of the seven meets he competed during his senior campaign.
Overall, Richard recorded three victories, including at the Coast Guard Spring Invite, the Tufts Sunshine Classic and the Little East Championship – where he threw his personal-best mark of 62.31 meters (204' 5") to capture the gold medal and All-LEC First Team honors. Across seven meets, Richard threw for 60 meters in six of those.
During his junior campaign, Richard competed in nine meets for the Corsairs. Highlighting his season was the LEC Championships as he threw a collegiate-best mark of 60.22 meters (197' 7") for second overall.
As a sophomore, Richard also participated in nine meets, finishing top three in the javelin five times. At the NCAA Championships that year, he was 13th overall (59.04m).
As a rookie, Richard competed in eight meets, placing in the top three in four of those eight competitions. Highlighting his season were wins at the Tufts Sunshine Classic and the MIT Final Qualifier.
