PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference has announced its weekly honorees in women's track & field and UMass Dartmouth student-athlete
Eshaya Lauder has been honored. The freshman was named the Field Athlete and Field Rookie of the Week after a strong performance at last week's Tufts Cupid Challenge. It marks her second Field Rookie honor of the year and first Field Athlete recognition.
Lauder, who hails from Manchester, N.H., posted eighth overall in the long jump at Tufts with a distance of 5.28M (17' 4"). It marked a collegiate-best jump and a New England Division III Provisional qualifying mark. Currently, Lauder is ranked 22nd in the NED3, 12th in the East Region and sixth in the Little East. Additionally, she finished 15th overall in the 60-meter dash with a personal best time of 8.27. That mark was also another NED3 Provisional qualifier.
It has been a solid start to the season for Lauder, who has finished top-3 in the long jump in five meets this season. She opened the season finishing third overall in the long jump and fifth in the 60-meter dash, taking home her first LEC Field Rookie of the Week honor.
Lauder went on to post second in the long jump at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invite at Brandeis, as well as second in the event at the Wheaton Invitational.
UMass Dartmouth returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Plymouth State University to compete at the 2026 Little East Conference Indoor Championships. Action at the meet gets underway at 10am.
