Women's Track & Field Posts Strong Effort at DIII New England's

Three individuals and two relays in action for the Corsairs

BOSTON, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's indoor track & field team saw several student-athletes in action on Sunday, competing at the 2026 Division III New England Championships – hosted at the TRACK at New Balance.
 
The action kicked off in the Distance Medley Relay, which saw junior Sophie Owen, seniors Grace Russell and Tori Schweitzer and junior Sarah Lynch post 13th overall with a time of 13:06.93.
 
In the 4x800-meter relay, the team of grad student Julia Latura, junior Serena Carnes and sophomores Ashlyn Byrnes and Sara Lopez powered their way to 18th overall with a time of 10:08.53.
 
The field events were paced by rookie Eshaya Lauder, who finished 16th overall in the long jump with a mark of 5.13 meters (16' 10"). The Corsairs then saw rookie Kearston Nelson post 19th overall in the shot put with a throw of 10.92 meters (35' 10"). Sophomore Olivia Seutter took 21st overall in the shot put with a mark of 10.55 meters (34' 7.5").
 
Select members of both the women's and men's squads return to action March 7 at the Tufts National Qualifier Meet in Medford, Mass.
