Corsairs Distance Medley Relay and long jumper honored for outstanding efforts

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their 2026 All-Region honorees for the indoor season and five UMass Dartmouth student-athletes were recognized. The Corsairs saw their Distance Medley Relay recognized, while rookie Eshaya Lauder was tabbed for the long jump. The top-8 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams.

The Corsairs DMR team finished eighth overall in the East Region as the foursome of junior Sophie Owen, seniors Grace Russell and Tori Schweitzer, along with junior Sarah Lynch combined for a time of 13:06.93. That mark was achieved at the Division III New England Championships where the group posted eighth over at the TRACK at New Balance on March 1.

Lauder earned her first All-Region recognition in the long jump with a distance of 5.44 meters. She captured that mark at the Little East Championships, posting second overall. In addition to All-LEC Second Team honors, Lauder also took home All-Rookie Team honors as the top finishing freshman in the event.

UMass Dartmouth will return to action on March 21 when it opens the outdoor season at the Wesleyan University J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic in Middletown, Connecticut.
