Box Score DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Senior Jill Levrault (Somerset, Mass.) registered two first half goals to power the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to a 6-0 victory over visiting Framingham State University on Wednesday night in a Little East Conference field hockey match on Cressy Field.
The Corsairs recorded a season-high six markers, including four in the second half, to improve to 9-3 on the season, and 5-1 in the conference circuit. The Rams dropped to 2-8 overall and 1-5 against Little East opponents.
Levrault netted a season-best two goals to lead the UMass Dartmouth attack, while classmate Ali Ladue (Bridgewater, Mass.) tallied a marker and an assist for three points. Junior Katelin Morrissey (Taunton, Mass.), sophomore Delaney Burns (Wayne, N.J.) and classmate Allie Kane (Attleboro, Mass.) each found the back of the net once for the hosts.
Sophomore Allison Burke (Franklin, Mass.) made a pair of stops to earn her second shutout of the season.
The Corsairs put the contest out of reach in the early minutes of the second stanza, scoring three times in the span of eight minutes. Ladue capitalized on a penalty stroke opportunity to give the hosts a 3-0 advantage just two minutes into the final half. Less than five minutes later, Morrissey gathered her own rebound and snuck her third goal of the campaign past the visitors' keeper. Burns used the same approach three minutes later to post her sixth marker of the season.
Kane registered her first collegiate goal to cap the scoring. The rookie from Attleboro, Mass. redirected an attempt from Ladue in the 53rd minute to seal UMass Dartmouth victory.
Senior Rosemary Talbot (Whitinsville, Mass.) earned the start in net for Framingham State, but did not register a save in 40 minutes, 49 seconds of action. Junior Alexandra Ricco (Agawam, Mass.) relieved Talbot in the 41st minute and finished with three saves.
UMass Dartmouth will return to action at 6 p.m. on Oct. 10, when the Corsairs travel to Little East Conference rival Westfield State University.
