DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the 2024 Academic All-District Teams for men's soccer featuring three student-athletes from the UMass Dartmouth men's soccer team. Senior captain
Justin Petrillo, senior midfielder
Andrew Pacheco, and junior goalkeeper
Ethan Donahue were each named to the CSC Academic All-District team for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.
Petrillo finished his career on a high note notching career-highs in multiple statistical categories including total goals (4), total assists (3), total points (11), and total shots (27). The senior captain started in all 14 games he played in for the Corsairs accumulating 889 minutes of action. Petrillo opened the 2024 season by scoring his first career brace against Framingham State University for four points. The Marshfield native also had a strong performance versus Bridgewater State University on Oct. 22 recording a goal and an assist for the Corsairs. Petrillo concluded the season by scoring his final goal on Cressy Field during a 5-1 win over Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Oct. 29.
The senior captain started in 62 of his 63 total games throughout his career at UMass Dartmouth. Petrillo notched eight goals and four assists for 20 total points while wearing the Corsairs uniform across four seasons racking up 4,828 minutes of play.
Pacheco returned to the pitch for the Corsairs in 2024 playing in 17 of the 18 games this season featuring 11 starts. He made an immediate impact on the squad, generating 821 minutes of action playing primarily in the midfield. The senior midfielder tallied 12 total shots this season marking a new career-high. This also marks the first-ever CSC Academic All-District selection for Pacheco.
Donahue picked up his second consecutive CSC Academic All-District honor following his debut season for UMass Dartmouth. The junior goalkeeper started in 16 games for the Corsairs securing three wins between the posts. Donahue registered 77 total saves for a 72.0 save percentage and owned a 2.03 goals-against average on the season. He earned his first win of the year on Sept. 18 at Worcester State after recording eight saves. Donahue's next pair of wins came at home against Wentworth on Oct. 8 and Massachusetts Maritime on Oct. 29.
