WATERFORD, Conn. – The UMass Dartmouth men's cross country team was in action on Saturday at the Connecticut College Invitational – hosted at Harkness Park. In the men's varsity 8k (blue), the Corsairs took 27th overall, while the men's sub-varsity 8k (white) saw the UMD squad finish 31st overall.
Pacing the effort in the blue race was junior
Cameron Thompson, who posted 86th overall with a time of 25:19.6 on the Harkness Park course. Sophomore
Jackson Caron was next across, notching a time of 26:18.5 to earn 154th in the race. Junior
Joseph Stanton posted a time of 26:33.8, earning 175th overall as sophomore
Jack Barbato had a time of 26:57.3 to place 200th on the afternoon.
Sophomore
Connor Bruni was next across, finishing in 27:07.2 for 212th, while senior
Ethan Sylvia had a mark of 27:37.3 to take 236th. Rounding out the top seven team finishers was junior
Zack Shute, who had a time of 28:10.7 for 254th overall.
In the white race, junior captain
Colin Ozturk led the way, posting a time of 28:08.3 for 198th overall. Rookie
Sean Benvissuto was next to finish with a time of 28:20.0 for 214th on the afternoon. Classmate
Stevie MacLennan crossed in 28:30.2 – good for 225th, while fellow rookie
Edward Yeboah had a time of 28:38.1 for 234th.
Sophomore
Michael Gemelli posted a time of 28:39.4 for 240th on the day, as junior
Ronan Maloney crossed the finish line in 28:40.1 for 243rd. Rounding out the top seven for the Corsairs was rookie
William Johnson, who had a time of 28:46.8 for 255th.
