Alexah Pedder of the UMass Dartmouth women's cross country team was tabbed as the Little East Conference (LEC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday. It marks the first LEC weekly honor for the rookie runner following a strong effort over the weekend.
The Corsairs competed in a tough field with Division I runners on Friday, October 3rd at the Paul Short Run hosted by LeHigh University. Pedder finished 256th overall out of 328 runners with a time of 24:27.0 which marks a new personal best on a 6K course. She has been the top rookie finisher for the Corsairs in all four races this season, placing between second or fourth amongst the top seven in each race.
UMass Dartmouth travels to Westfield State University to compete in the James Early Invitational on Saturday, October 11th. The women's race will take place on the Stanley Park Course and is scheduled for a 11:30 a.m. start time.
