Four Corsairs Earn LEC All-Conference Team Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) released its 2025 LEC Field Hockey All-Conference Teams featuring three student-athletes on the UMass Dartmouth field hockey squad, as announced by the league on Thursday. Senior captain Lillian Bento, junior defender Sophia Bouffard, and sophomore goalie Shane Cueman each were named to the All-LEC Second Team. Senior defender Abby Perry was also selected to the LEC Sportsmanship Team.
 
Bento, a senior captain and defender, collected her first career all-conference team honors after being selected to the All-LEC Second Team. The senior captain started in all 19 games for UMass Dartmouth this season with 1,064 total minutes logged in 2025. The Seekonk native tallied one goal and pair of assists for four points while also recording one defensive save on the season. Bento's two assists ranked second most on the team while her four points on the year ranked fourth overall.
 
The senior captain notched her first defensive save during the Corsairs season home opener against Framingham State University on August 30. She dished out her first assist on September 19 versus Keene State College before tallying her second helper of the year against Southern Maine on October 11. At Eastern Connecticut State University in the 2025 regular season finale, Bento finished her incredible career on a high note by scoring her first collegiate goal for UMass Dartmouth.
 
For the second consecutive year, Bouffard garners All-LEC Second Team honors following an impressive season. The junior defender started in all 19 contests for the Corsairs registering four goals along with three assists, marking a new career-high, for 11 total points in 2025. A LEC Defensive Player of the Week honoree, Bouffard also matched her career-high in defensive saves with 13 total on the season which tied for first overall in the conference. Bouffard also finished the season with two game-winning goals and a pair of penalty stroke goals for the Corsairs.
 
Bouffard lifted UMass Dartmouth over Elms on September 2 with a dominate 6-0 road win after notching her first goal and assist of the season for three points. She later posted her second assist on September 19 against Keene State in a tough 4-2 loss. The junior defender closed out the year strong, scoring three goals along with her third assist in the regular season finale at Eastern Connecticut State in the final eight games of the season. On the defensive end, Bouffard recorded three games with two defensive saves starting in the season home opener against Framingham State. She produced her second contest with a pair of defensive saves at Clark University on September 13 and again on October 18 versus Roger Williams University.  
 
Cueman secured her first career All-LEC Second Team distinction for UMass Dartmouth after a standout 2025 campaign. The Glen Ridge native posted 280 total stops in the cage for the Corsairs and owned a 78.7 save percentage in 2025, both good for career-highs. After starting in all 19 games for UMass Dartmouth, Cueman collected two wins including her first career shutout on September 2 at Elms College by a final score of 6-0.
 
The sophomore goalie recorded nine games this season with 15-or-more saves. Additionally, four of the nine contests she produced were 20-plus save performances. On September 16 at Salve Regina, Cueman registered a career-high 31 saves against the Seahawks after facing 35 total shots for 88.6 save percentage.   
 
Cueman led the Little East with 280 total saves in 2025, averaging a league-high 14.74 saves per game. She logged 1,145 She also owned the third best save percentage in the conference at 78.7 after facing 385 shots. Additionally, the sophomore goalie led all of NCAA Division III in total saves (280) and saves per game (14.74).
 
Perry, a senior defender and captain for the Corsairs, was recognized on the LEC Sportsmanship Team. In 17 games played including 10 starts, Perry has logged 765 minutes for UMass Dartmouth in 2025. She has had an exceptional career playing in 69 total games with 47 starts across four seasons as a Corsair to go along with two assists for two points.
