PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference has announced its All-Conference and major year-end award winners in men's indoor track & field and 15 UMass Dartmouth student-athletes have been recognized as All-Conference honorees. Additionally, sophomore
Ancil Alexander was named the LEC's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year (
HERE), while freshman
Michael Veegh was the Indoor Rookie Track Athlete of the Year (
HERE).
Veegh won the 400-meter dash at last week's LEC Championships with a New England DIII Provisional time of 50.54, capturing All-LEC First Team honors. Junior
Joseph Stanton won the 800-meters with an NED3 Provisional time of 1:58.53 to take home First Team recognition, while the 4x800-meter relay team of rookie
Edward Yeboah, junior
Cameron Thompson, sophomore
Jack Barbato and Stanton won in a time of 8:10.37 for First Team honors.
First Team honors continued in the field events as sophomore
Sean Patrone claimed victory in the high jump with a mark of 1.97 meters (6' 5.5") – which was also an NED3 Automatic qualifying mark.
Second Team honors saw Thompson post second overall in the Mile with an NED3 Provisional time of 4:16.32, while sophomore
Jackson Caron earned All-LEC Second Team in the 3,000-meters with a time of 8:57.82. Rounding out the track efforts was the 4x400-meter relay team of Veegh, sophomore
Bunmi Fabikun, rookie
Jayden Francois and sophomore
Zane Gordon, who posted a time of 3:28.67.
Field events saw Alexander earn second in the shot put with a throw of 15.64 meters (51' 3.75"), while rookie
Ewan McLeod captured his first All-Conference honor with runner-up in the high jump – posting a height of 1.92 meters (6' 3.5").
Third Team honors saw Francois a two-time honoree as he took third overall in the long jump with a mark of 6.39 meters (20' 11.75") and the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.67. He also garnered Rookie Team recognition in the long jump. Freshman
Anthony Drinkwater was third in the triple jump with a distance of 13.12 meters (43' 0.5") – also capturing Rookie Team honors, while sophomore
Mickey Valentino was third in the shot put with a throw of 14.38 meters (47' 2.25") – also an NED3 Automatic qualifying mark.
Rounding out the honors was freshman
Stevie MacLennan, who garnered All-Rookie Team honors after finishing seventh overall (and the top finishing rookie) in the 3,000-meters with a time of 9:11.09.
Qualified members of the Corsairs men's team will be back in action on Sunday at the 2026 DIII New England Championships. Hosted at the TRACK at New Balance, action will begin at 9:30am.
