One of the best tennis players to don a UMass Dartmouth uniform, Lopes helped lead the Corsairs to a 46-12 overall record during her four-year career. The squad advanced to four straight Little East Tournaments during her tenure, including the fourth LEC title in program history in 2008.

Lopes, described by teammates as both positive and motivating, established her dominance early as a Corsair. During her sophomore season in 2008, she went a perfect 10-0 at #1 singles and was 10-1 at #1 doubles with partner Becky Bullock. For her efforts, Lopes was named the 2008 LEC Player of the Year, while adding All-LEC First Team at #1 singles and #1 doubles to her resume.

Her outstanding efforts during the 2008 season helped the Corsairs win the regular season and earn the top-seed in the LEC Tournament. UMass Dartmouth, which finished 15-2 that season, powered its way through the tournament with a 3-0 mark, culminating in a 5-3 victory over #2 Bridgewater State to earn the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Corsairs faced a tough opponent in #18 Bowdoin, falling to the Polar Bears in the opening round.

Lopes went on to earn All-LEC Second Team at both #1 singles, as well as #1 doubles with partner Alexa Fiorita during her senior season.
