On the very last throw of his college career, Keith Rose ('99 track and field) earned All-America honors for a second consecutive season with a seventh-place finish in the new javelin at the 1999 NCAA Division III National Championships. In the final round of the competition, Rose re-injured his hamstring and was suffering from an elbow injury, yet was able to move up from ninth place to finish seventh with a throw of 189-6 and earn his second All-America honor. As a freshman, Rose threw 181-1 and was fifth in the New England Division III meet. The next season, he set the school record for the first time at 185 feet. As a sophomore, he won every Division III invitational meet in which he competed and was fifth in the New England Div. III meet.  He captured the Div. III New England championship as a junior, twice advanced his school record to 203-3 and finished fourth nationally for his first NCAA Div. III All-America honor. In his senior year, he set the school record for a fourth time at 204-6 and was a Division III All-America for the second consecutive season.
