Len Brophy (SMU '78) played basketball for then-Southeastern Massachusetts University for only two seasons, but his connections to the Corsair Athletic Department have continued long since his playing days were over.  A long-time supporter of the men's basketball program, Brophy is an unabashed supporter of the entire UMass Dartmouth Athletic Department and the Corsair Hall of Fame, offering his support to Athletic Directors and coaches past and present.  Brophy was honored by the Athletic Department with the 1999 John Frye Athletic Service Award. Upon receiving the award it was written about Brophy, "He is a true friend to the entire Department of Athletics and UMass Dartmouth.  It is because of this loyalty, friendship and support that he was nominated for and will receive this year's award."  That dedication and support to UMass Dartmouth's student-athletes has never wavered throughout his more than 30-year affiliation with the department and has resulted in his induction into the Corsair Hall of Fame's Friend Category.
