A four-time All-Little East selection in his career, Stephens helped the Corsairs men's basketball team to an 81-32 record during his tenure, including two NCAA Tournament appearances and four straight Little East Tournaments. The LEC Rookie of the Year and an All-Rookie Team selection in the 2007-08 season, he helped UMass Dartmouth win the regular season crown, advancing into the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament as the team finished 25-4.
The Corsairs followed that up in 2008-09, winning the Little East Tournament and advancing to the NCAA Sectional Semifinals, having gone 27-4 on the season. Stephens – an All-LEC Second Team honoree as a sophomore – saw his junior season become one for the ages as he scored 496 points, joined the 1,000-point club at UMass Dartmouth, and helped the team to the LEC Tournament Semifinals as he earned All-LEC First Team honors.
In his four-year career, Stephens recorded 1,639 points, graduating in the top-10 for scoring. He remains among the career leaders in a number of categories for the Corsairs, including three-point field goals (231-of-609), steals (148) and assists (183). A two-time NABC New England All-Region selection, Stephens was also a two-time All-LEC First Team honoree, adding 382 rebounds and three triple doubles in his career.
