Tom Mendell served as the University’s Head Men’s Tennis Coach for 12 seasons from 2003 through 2014, as his overall record of 94-61 (.606) ranks behind only fellow Hall of Famer Warren Preti on the school’s career list.  A two-time Little East Coach of the Year, Mendell’s teams won four conference championships and made three appearances in the NCAA Division III Championships.  Tom’s 2009 squad has the distinction of being the first in program history to earn a victory in NCAA tournament play, as UMass Dartmouth notched a 5-2 opening round win over Neumann that spring.
